To learn patience

I have amazing chances to create beautiful magical images.  One of my very close friends has a magical princess company.  The catch, why does there always seem to be a catch, is that she is in RI and I am in CT, also, I have three beautiful little monsters that need me around.  My husband works enough for three people and I take care of them and work as much as I can second shift.  We all have to eat!  I know that in time all of this will come together, and the little portfolio I want, and need to put together will happen.  Soon I will have so much more free time that I am going to miss the hectic time when the little men in my life will grow up and run away to create their own magic in this world.  Our oldest (girl), almost, already has.  Today was a day like any other in my life, hectic.  I really wanted to run down to RI and take pictures of one of her new characters, a winter faerie, what a perfect way to begin December.

The Crew.

Mom and the Three little monsters.

( My little monsters: In  my head they are these adorable cuddly, big, and fluffy little monsters.  Their eyes always smiling, their eyelashes always long.  They are mischievous and loving.  And always gathered around a bright green cauldron, conjuring up new magical potions.) (more on this little story at a later time)

The Plan.

November 30th:

  1. Charge camera battery, put new batteries into flash.

  2. Purse ready

  3. Backpack ready for work.  Water bottle, snacks, notebook…

  4. Decorate for Christmas.  (This one did not happen as I had hoped.  Turns out that we got rid of our large tree, and only had a little one. The basement is festive and all the little monsters in their land are happy! Perfect!)

  5. Go next door and celebrate one of my best friends birthdays and be in bed by midnight.

December 1st:

  1. Up by seven am

  2. Pack car; camera, purse backpack

  3. Get all the little monsters ready

  4. Put little monsters in car

  5. Drive to parents to drop off the littlests of the three

  6. Be on the road RI bound by 8:30 am

  7. Be back for work at 2pm

  8. After work go home edit the night away and email the best ones to her…..THE END

The Outcome.

One sentence; Snow mixed with rain and sleet.

RI was a no go.  A big giant no go.  It broke my heart.  It did.  I am so hard on myself, I know this.  It was going to be magical, and I looked forward to the crazy day, a most personal and amazing crazy day.

When I realized that it was impossible to embark in this great adventure, with my oldest little monsters, all I could think of is where can we go to create something.  A local park would have to do.  It was great fun, and some great pictures, not as magical, not yet.  I will get home and edit my heart away anyway.  Not to mention, my parents house, is Christmas central, great pictures there too.

This does make me happy, that we had our little adventure.  I am still impatient and most definitely not fully satisfied yet…but I will find the time, and it can’t snow all the time!!!

Pictures to come……
